Ruby for alcoholism storyline? Fans express concern over her drinking: ‘It’s all she does’
She’s fond of a glass of wine.
Emmerdale fans have noticed that Ruby Fox-Miligan seems to have a drink in her hand more often than not and have expressed concern for her wellbeing.
It has been an action packed year for Ruby and her go to coping mechanism appears to be to reach for the bottle.
Now fans are wondering if an alcoholism storyline is on the way for the fan favourite character.

What’s been going on with Ruby in Emmerdale?
Ruby arrived in the Dales in January and quickly made her presence known when she revealed her husband Caleb’s affair with Tracy to the whole village.
Caleb and Ruby reunited, but it hasn’t been plain sailing and recently Ruby cheated on Caleb with his brother Cain.
The past couple of months have also seen Ruby deal with being reunited with her estranged family. After Ruby’s mum Helen died, daughter Steph turned up, who hadn’t seen her parents in over 10 years. It was a tough reunion, though mother and daughter appear to be working through their issues.
Ruby’s dad Anthony then arrived to a hostile reception from his daughter – who he hadn’t seen in 30 years.
Anthony announced that he had prostate cancer, but Ruby is still apprehensive about getting to know him. An upcoming flashback episode will reveal what happened to Ruby during her teenage years – and might go some way to explaining why she feels the need to drink.

Does Ruby have a drink problem?
Fans have noticed that whenever Ruby is stressed – which is a lot – she reaches for the alcohol. And lately, she never seems to be without a glass of wine.
Taking to X, one fan wrote: “Ruby drinks all day. Ruby gets out of bed and open a bottle of wine.” Another fan joked: “I want to live with Ruby. Wine on tap.”
A third viewer said: “Jeez, does all Ruby do all day every day is drink and not do any hard graft?!” While another said at the start of a recent episode: “Hoorahhh Ruby has already opened a bottle.”
Others believe a drink problem is on the cards for Ruby, with one viewer saying: “Is Ruby an alcoholic? She’s always drinking?”
Could they be right and will Emmerdale explore a drink problem for Ruby?
