Ross Barton and Emmerdale actor Mike Parr has shared some big wishes over who he’d loved to play Nana Barton.

Nana Barton is a character that’s been mentioned a fair bit over the years but has never been seen on screen.

But, if Mike could get his way, he’s revealed who he’d love to play the character.

Ross Barton’s return

Ross recently returned to the Dales and soon got himself into quite some bother. This was shown when he started bare knuckle fighting against Billy.

It seemed that Ross was in a rather dark place. He revealed that poor Rebecca had died a few months back (we’re still sobbing!)

Since deciding to stay put in the village, Ross made a pass at Charity but was soon rejected. So, he then moved on to the next woman, soon sleeping with Steph in the barn (how glamorous!)

With Ross sticking around, actor Mike Parr has now shared his hopes for a Barton family expansion. After all, the family did used to be rather prominent in the Dales back in the day.

Emmerdale: Mike Parr reveals Nana Barton casting hopes

Dreaming to meet the much talked about, never seen Nana Barton one day, Mike shared that he’d love to see Sue Johnston take on the role.

Speaking to Emmerdale Insider and other media, Mike said: “There was this mythological character called Nana Barton and I would love it if Sue Johnston… It would be my dream to work with her after watching her for so many years on Brookside and the Royle Family and stuff.

“I think she’s probably off busy getting offers left, right and centre, but if I could cast anybody to play a character that hasn’t been in the show yet… evil Nana Barton. Or maybe not. Maybe she’s lovely.” Could this happen one day?
