Bettina and her husband Giovanni kick off the contest in West Sussex with an Italian menu. However, married couples Linda and Dave, and Chris and Ewelina, are unimpressed with Bettina's lack of home cooking. On day two, school inspectors Dave and Linda offer French fine dining. Inspired by their love of the countryside, they plan to use as much home-grown produce from their garden as possible. After Dave and Linda's comments on the first night, their guests are expecting everything to be home-made, leading to a dramatic revelation at dessert. Finally, Polish-born Ewelina and her husband Chris serve up a home-made menu. Ewelina takes control in the kitchen, while funnyman Chris does his best to distract her
