Judge Judy

'Judge Judy' is an American arbitration series presided over by former family court judge Judith Sheindlin, who presides over various small claims cases. At the beginning of court proceedings, Judy questions the parties involved about facts central to the lawsuit. After the case has been presented, Judy renders her judgement by either awarding an amount to the plaintiff, up to a maximum of $5,000, or dismissing the case. Judy is known for her strict, no-nonsense approach and isn't afraid to embarrass someone by way of punishing them if she believes they have acted badly. The popular show has been showing in America since 1996, and is shown on ITV2 and TV3.
