Film The Living and the Dead
Beautiful storyline
Beyond beautiful storyline, setting, and characters. It's everyone's hope of renewal out of tragedy, finding the best of every situation, but also adds a bit of mystery and the unknown. Love, love, love me some Colin Morgan in any series, but this one takes the cake.

Film The Living and the Dead
Brilliant
I think this series is brilliant. All performances are solid and powerful. The music and the cinematography are wonderful. The intriguing storyline, in marvelous realism, gracefully plays with time (past, present and future) and makes paranormal events look like normal occurrences. It is also a story showing a convincing desperate love between the "so alive Charlotte and Nathan, haunted by the dead. Colin Morgan acting ability is convincing and phenomenal. At the same time, it is creepy

Film A Matter of Life and Death
Wild & Uneven Masterpiece
If you have yet to see or experience a Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger film (I know Where I'm Going, Life & Death Of Colonel Blimp, The Red Shoes, A Canterbury Tale, Black Narcissus), then this is perhaps the best place to start. Beautifully photographed by Jack Cardiff in black & white & Techincolour, it stars David Niven in his finest role as an RAF pilot who's near-death, parachuteless escape from his WW2 bomber turns out not to be as fortunate as he may have thought. Great work from Roger Livesey & Marius Goring too! Perhaps one of the strangest, most entertaining films Britain has yet produced.

Magnificent Swashbuckler, with Power on top form with the blade (a weapon he was most adept at) and facing former Olympic fencer, Basil Rathbone in some of Cinema's most memorable duels. Film There Will Be Blood
Masterpiece!
When you think back to George Stevens 1950's overblown epic, "Giant' with its stella cast of Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson & James Dean, it may seem inevitable that some of the comments mentioned here meander towards wanting an epic that works as an entertainment. TWBB is a terrific film, beautifully crafted & scored (Jonny Greenwood) & with a central performance that rivals Brando in his pomp. It is a slow-paced, elegiac, disturbing homage to human perseverance, dishonesty & greed which culminates in its own kind of tragedy. A brilliant work & an unmissable masterpiece to be enjoyed on the big screen!
